Assignment 3 - Perspectives
One-point & Two-point perspectives
- All vertical lines are perpendicular to the horizon.
- All horizontal lines are parallel to the horizon.
- All diagonal lines intersect at the point on the horizon.
Basic Concepts
- PICTURE PLANE (PP):
The “window” that is represented by the picture.
- STATION POINT (SP):
Represents the eye of the observer. It is the camera in a
photograph.
- VANISHING POINT (VP):
Are points (usually) on the horizon line where receding line
(planes) meet.
- GROUND LINE (GL):
A line that is parallel to the picture plane at the base of the object being
described.
- HORIZON LINE (HL):
A theoretical line that represents the eye level of the observer
